AEW Dynamite Live Results (10/02/2024)


Bryan Danielson and Kazuchika Okada will be putting the AEW World Championship and AEW Continental Championships on the line respectively tonight as they collide in a Title vs. Title Match. If the bout exceeds twenty minutes, then Okada's title will no longer be on the line and the two will only be battling over Danielson's title.


Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. will be competing in her first match since unsuccessfully challenging Mercedes Mone for the TBS Championship at AEW All In back in August as she squares off with Serena Deeb. Although they've previously teamed with one another on the September 14, 2022 episode of "Dynamite" and met in the ring in a Four-Way Match for the AEW Women's World Championship the following week on September 21, this will be the first time that they've met in the ring in single's competition.


Will Ospreay will be defending the AEW International Championship for the first time since retaining against PAC at AEW All Out on September 7 as Ricochet challenges him for his title. The two men have come face-to-face a handful of times backstage over the course of the last few weeks. Elsewhere, "Hangman" Adam Page will be going head-to-head with Juice Robinson of The Bang Bang Gang following a physical confrontation on "AEW Collision" this past Saturday.


We are live! The show kicks off with a message from Claudio Castagnoli, PAC, Jon Moxley, and Marina Shafir to Wheeler Yuta and Bryan Danielsn.


Excalibur, Nigel McGuinness, and Tony Schiavone greet audiences at home as Ricochet makes his way down to the ring. Will Ospreay follows, with Don Callis telling Kyle Fletcher that they need to get to the airport andpreventing him from accompanying him to ringside.

The bell rings and the two lock up. They continue going back and forth with one another, but Ricochet looks to land a hurricanrana on Ospreay. Ospreay lands on his feet, but Ricochet fires off chops on him and connects with a backbreaker. He follows it up with a tope suicida to level Ospreay on the outside, then lands a hurricanrana on him off the barricade.


Ospreay and Ricochet get back in the ring, and Ospreay flies off the ropes. The pair exchange kicks, but Ricochet connects with a jumping knee on Ospreay. Ospreay then turns Ricochet inside out with a standing Spanish Fly and goes for a pin, but Ricochet kicks out. Ricochet delivers an enzuigiri to Ospreay, but Ospreay lands a cutter on him off the ropes.


Back from the break, Ricochet lands a hurricanrana on Ospreay off the top rope, but Ospreay lands on his feet. Ricochet connects with a cutter on Ospreay, then sends him crashing into the mat and lands a piledriver. Ospreay hits a modified Stunner on Ricochet, then follows it up with a hurricanrana and a Styles Clash. He goes for a pin, but Ricochet kicks out.


Ospreay delivers an Os-Cutter to Ricochet and goes for a pin, but Ricochet kicks out. Ospreay sets up for the Hidden Blade, but Ricochet avoids it and ascends to the top. He connects with a Shooting Star Press and goes for a pin, but Ricochet kicks out. Ospreay delivers a reverse hurricanrana to Ricochet, but Ricochet responds with one of his own. Ospreay then lands the Hidden Blade on Ricochet with his shoulders on the mat.


The referee then clarifies that the match has been declared as a draw, and Justin Roberts reveals that Tony Khan has declared that this match will continue.


Ospreay and Ricochet exchange right hands with one another, but Ospreay connects with a Hidden Blade. Konosuke Takeshita appears in the ring and beats down Ospreay, then delivers the Raging Fire to Ricochet. He grabs the International Championship and holds it up.


Winner (and still): Will Ospreay (via disqualification)


We then head backstage and see Renee Paquette chat with Mercedes Mone and Kamille. MVP approaches them and hands Mone his business card. 


Back from the break, we see "Hangman" Adam Page attack Colten Gunn and Austin Gunn.


Back at ringside, Big Bill is waiting inside.


Chris Jericho, Big Bill, and Bryan Keith Host TV Time With Chris Jericho


Bill introduces Jericho, and he makes his way down alongside Keith. Jericho greets fans, then credits himself for building AEW. Keith leads fans in a "Thank you Chris" chant, and Jericho says it's the 34th anniversary of his pro wrestling debut. He reflects on the early days of his career in Alberta, then continues crediting himself for mentoring Keith and Bill. He says it's time for a new era of Jericho, then challenges Mark Briscoe to a match for the Ring Of Honor World Championship Match at AEW WrestleDream.


Mark's music hits, and he makes his way out to the ring alongside the rest of The Conglomeration. Mark tells Jericho that his father taught him what it meant to be a man. He says he had Jericho beat in their Tornado Tag Team Match at the "AEW Collision" Grand Slam last week, but Bill prevented him from winning. He says for the last four decades, Jericho has been one of the most influential pro wrestlers on the planet, but he's confident he can beat him.


Jericho tells Mark he doesn't think that he could beat him, but he thinks that Jay Briscoe could. He says everyone knows that he'll never be as good as Jay was, and Mark slaps Jericho. Mark warns Jericho against invoking his brother's name, then accepts his WrestleDream challenge.


"Hangman" Adam Page then makes his way down to the ring. Juice Robinson follows.

Page meets Robinson on the ramp, and the pair begin to brawl. Robinson whips Page with his belt, but Page grabs the belt and whips Robinson with it. The pair continue to brawl through the crowd, then get back inside the ring.


Back from the break, Robinson connects with a superplex to Page. He follows it up with a pair of elbows and a pair of chops, then fires off right hands on him and looks to hit a cannonball. Page rolls out of the ring before he can, then sends him crashing into the barricade on the outside and bouncing off the ring apron face first. Robinson sends Page crashing into the ring apron spine first, then lands a cannonball on him that sends him crashing through the barricade.


Robinson gets Page back in the ring and looks to land a crossbody off the top rope, but Page intercepts him and delivers a Fallaway Slam that sends him crashing into the bottom turnbuckle. Page then looks to land a Deadeye on Robinson off the middle rope, but Robinson escapes and connects with a powerbomb. He goes for a pin, but Page kicks out. Robinson sets up for The Juice Is Loose, but Page low blows him to avoid it and connects with the Buckshot Lariat for the win.

After the match, Page takes off his cowboy buckle belt. He uses it to choke out Robinsin, but Jay White's music hits and he blindsides Page from behind with a clothesline. He fires off left and right hands on him in the crowd, then fires off chops and sends him crashing through a table set up on one of the barricades.


We then head backstage and see Jack Perry pull up to the arena. Katsuyori Shibata approaches him and challenges him to a TNT Championship match at WrestleDream. Perry then attacks Shibata and accepts his challenge.


Back from the break, Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. makes her way down to the ring through the crowd. Serena Deeb follows.

The bell rings and the two lock up. They take turns locking one another in submissions as we see Mariah May watching the action through the crowd. Deeb cinches in a Half Boston Crab on Baker, but Baker crawls over to the bottom rope to break the hold. Deeb then connects with a shoulder tackle on Baker, but Baker responds with a neckbreaker and a forearm. Deeb connects with a chop block on Baker's knee, then follows it up with a clothesline.


Back from the break, Baker connects with a pair of clotheslines on Deeb and follows it up with a Sling Blade. Baker responds with a swinging neckbreaker and goes for a pin, but Deeb kicks out. Baker then puts on her signature glove, but Deeb catches her with a Dragon Screw as she continues wearing down her injured knee. She then delivers a powerbomb and a submission on Baker's injured knee, but Baker escapes and rocks Deeb with a back elbow. Deeb then delivers a German suplex to Baker, but Baker lands a superkick under her jaw.


Baker pins Deeb, but Deeb reverses the fall. Baker kicks out, and Deeb looks to lock in another submission to wear down her injured knee. Baker sends Deeb crashing into the corner, but Deeb ascends to the top and Baker meets her up there. Baker connects with an Air Raid Crash on Deeb off the middle rope and pins her, but Deeb kicks out. Deeb pins Baker, but Baker kicks out and cinches in the Lock Jaw. Deeb taps out.


Winner: Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D.


After the match, Deeb clocks Baker from behind and locks in a Half Boston Crab on her. Queen Aminata's music hits and she runs down to the ring. She rains down right hands on Deeb, but Deeb slides out of the ring and Aminata checks on Baker. She helps her up and raises her hand.


Back from the break, we head backstage and see a heated verbal confrontation between Willow Nightingale and Mariah May.


Private Party vs. Iron Savages (w/ Jacked Jameson)


Bronson and Kassidy begin the action. The bell rings and Kassidy connects with a dropkick on Bronson. Boulder tags in, and Private Party levels a double dropkick on him. Boulder stays standing on his feet as we see Stokely Hathaway watching the action from backstage. Private Party then delivers the Gin and Juice to Boulder for the win.


Winners: Private Party


After the match, Private Party calls out The Young Bucks and challenges them to an AEW World Tag Team Championship match. The Young Bucks' music hits and they appear, agreeing to Private Party's challenge. Matthew Jackson then says The Bucks will be backing down due to having limited dates, and Jack Perry appears out of nowhere. He attacks Private Party and Matthew joins in, but Katsuyori Shibata's music hits and he runs down to even the odds.


Christopher Daniels' music hits, and he makes his way out to announce a Six Man Tag Team Match between The Elite and Private Party and Shibata on "AEW Rampage" this coming Friday.


We then head backstage to Renee Paquette and MVP, where MVP looks to make an announcement. Prince Nana interrupts and confronts MVP about what happened between them last week, but MVP introduces Shelton Benjamin to AEW fans and announces that he handles all complaints.


Back from the break, Kazuchika Okada makes his way out to the ring. Bryan Danielson follows.

The bell rings and the two stare each other down. They then lock up, but Danielson connects with a kick on Okada.


Back from the break, Okada sends Danielson crashing into the corner. Danielson rains down right hands on Okada, then dropkicks him. Okada responds with a Flapjack and lands a strike on Danielson in the corner, but Okada connects with an elbow on him.


Danielson delivers an uppercut to Okada, then ascends to the top rope and looks to land a diving headbutt. Okada rolls out of the way, then lands a DDT on him and goes for a pin. Danielson kicks out and Okada sits him on the top rope, then dropkicks him out of the ring and sends him crashing into two of the barricades shoulder first. Okada then delivers a boot that sends Danielson crashing into the crowd, but Danielson delivers a pair of knees to Okada and dumps him back in the ring.


Danielson ascends to the top rope and delivers a dropkick to Okada that sends him back out of the ring, then connects with a tope suicida to level him. He dumps him back in the ring, then delivers a dropkick to his spine off the top and fires off a series of kicks on him. Okada rolls up Danielson, but Danielson kicks out. Okada and Danielson each take a turn unsuccessfully pinning one another, then exchange slaps with each other before Okada lands an elbow drop on Danielson off the top rope.


Okada looks to land the Rainmaker on Danielson, but Danielson locks in a Guillotine. He then transitions into the LeBell Lock and the Cattle Mutilation, but Okada gets his foot on the bottom rope to break the hold. Danielson then delivers the Busaiku Knee and looks to pin Okada, but Okada rolls out of the ring before he can. Okada and Danielson then begin brawling on the outside, and Okada connects with a Tombstone on Danielson.


Back from another break, Danielson fires off chops on Okada in the corner. He delivers a kick to Okada's tricep, then catches him with a suplex and a kick to his head. He fires off stomps on Okada and gets the crowd hyped up, then sets up for the Busaiku Knee. Okada sees it coming and levels Danielson, then exchanges right hands with Danielson.


Okada catches Danielson with a boot, then levels him with a running boot and goes for a pin. Danielson kicks out and lands the Rainmaker on Okada, then goes for a pin but Okada kicks out. Danielson then rains down Hammer and Anvil elbows on Okada, but Okada sends him crashing into the mat and levels him with a clothesline.


Claudio Castagnoli and PAC appear in the crowd as Danielson rolls up Okada for the win.


Winner (and still AEW World Champion): Bryan Danielson


After the match, Okada beats down Danielson out of frustration and storms to the back. Castagnoli and PAC then enter the ring and hold Danielson in place of Jon Moxley. Moxley then storms down to the ring with Marina Shafir and tells Danielson that he didn't want any of this. He says if any of this was about him, he would've put Danielson out of his misery years ago.


Wheeler Yuta slides in the ring with a hammer in hand, forcing Castagnoli, PAC, and Shafir to slide out of the ring. Yuta contemplates using the hammer against Moxley, but before he can decide, Danielson attacks Moxley. Yuta and Danielson brawl with Castagnoli and PAC before Yuta grabs a mic and challenges the two men to a tag team match against him and Danielson. Danielson then leads the crowd in a chant, and Yuta holds up his hand as the show goes off the air.
