AEW Rampage Live Results (08/02/2024)

Five matches are set for tonight’s AEW Rampage, including MxM Collection facing Private Party.

The MxM duo of Mason Madden & Mansoor will take on Private Party’s Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen in the lone tag team bout on tonight’s episode. MxM Collection made their in-ring ROH debut at the Death Before Dishonor pre-show last Friday, and followed up with their AEW debut on Saturday’s Collision against FTR.

A match with Brian Cage of Cage of Agony facing enhancement talent Manny Lo was taped for the show, advertised just as Brian Cage in action.

The Learning Tree’s Bryan Keith will also face an enhancement talent on the show, as he goes one-on-one with Jackson Drake.

In a women’s division contest, former AEW Women’s Champion Nyla Rose will face Harley Cameron.

Wheeler Yuta vs. The Butcher in singles competition rounds out the five-match lineup for the show.

Excalibur, Matt Menard and Tony Schiavone were on commentary.

Wheeler Yuta (w/ Bryan Danielson) defeated The Butcher (10:38)

Danielson actually went over to the commentary table.

Yuta transitioned from a flying octopus hold into a sunset flip for a near fall, but Butcher got right up and mauled him with a shoulderblock. Yuta sent Butcher to the floor and followed him out with a tope. On the floor, Yuta whipped Butcher into the guardrail and hit a forearm. Back in the ring, Yuta went for a blind dive, but Butcher sidestepped him and dropped him with a backbreaker for a near fall.

After the split-screen break, Yuta came off the top with a cross bodyblock. Yuta followed up with a flying clothesline to take Butcher off his feet. Yuta followed up with an enziguri and an elbow strike. Yuta came off the top with a flying forearm. Yuta hit a German suplex and bridge for a near fall. Yuta stomped on Butcher’s arm and locked on a kimura, but Butcher casually got to his feet and hit a powerbomb for a near fall.

Yuta went for a double chicken wing. When Yuta couldn’t get Butcher down, he bit on his neck and got Butcher down for the mat, then locked in Daneilson’s Cattle Mutilation hold to get Butcher to tap out.

Brian Cage defeated Manny Lo (0:58)

Cage picked Lo up for a slam and gave him a cutter. Cage finished Lo off with Weapon X. That was a proper squash.

– Renee Pauqette interviewed Don Callis and Kyle Fletcher. Brian Cage interrupted, and Fletcher challenged Brian Cage for Collision. Callis is not happy about all this wrestling Kyle Fletcher wants to do.

Nyla Rose defeated Harley Cameron (7:54)

According to her pre match promo, Cameron is wrestling this match on Saraya’s behalf, who is protesting because she’s not a part of All In. But I don’t think Saraya was ever advertised for this match.

Nyla dumped Cameron to the floor and teased doing a dive on the outside. Cameron sent Rose into the ring barricade. Back in the ring, Carermon choked Rose in the corner with a boot to the throat.

After the commercial break, Cameron went for a tijeras but Rose countered it with a backbreaker. Rose followed up with a big legdrop for two. Cameron came off the middle ropes with a crossbody and got powerslamed. Rose missed a cannon ball in the corner. Cameron got a near fall off a running knee. Cameron gave Rose a Bronco buster, but Rose powered up and turn it into a running Beast Bomb to get the pinfall.

– Private Party cut a promo on the MxM Collection.

“Bad Apple” Bryan Keith (w/ Chris Jericho & Big Bill) defeated Jackson Drake

Keith caught Drake with an exploder suplex and a big boot. Keith gave Drake the Diamond Dust to get the pinfall.

– Renee Paquette interviewed Katsuyori Shibata. Through his phone, Shibata promised Hook and Samoa Joe would be back soon, and he would hurt all of Bryan Keith to revenge for what Keith did to his arm.

– A preview of the big eight tag main event for Collision tomorrow afternoon.

MxM Collection (Mason Madden & Mansoor) defeated Private Party (Zay & Quen) (12:07)

Mason Madden was recruited to the Jaguars after college, which makes him the first guy to work for Tony Khan in the NFL and AEW. Frustrated by Zay doing the “Shots! Shots! Shots!” taught, Madden let the crowd know this was a serious wrestling contest.

Madden was easily a head taller than everyone else in this match. Quen used Zay as a springboard and dropkicked Madden, then Private Party gave Mansoor a flapjack when he tried to run in.

MxM had the advantage during the break. After the break, Quen got the hot tag and hit Mansoor with a series of forearms and a shoulder tackle. Quen hit a standing moonsault and a lionsault. Madden ran in and got an enziguri, and Quen hit Mansoor with an enziguri as well. Private Party hit a back suplex/neckbreaker combo for a near fall. Private Party tried a double suplex on Madden, but Madden reversed it and suplexed both Private Party. Madden hit a leg lariat on Zay into a sitdown powerbomb from Mansoor for a near fall.

Zay came off the ropes with a springboard tornado DDT for a near fall, then hit Madden with a dropkick. Zay went for a tope on Madden on the floor, but Madden caught him with a Black Hole Slam. Quen came off the top with a tope con hilo on Madden.

Back in the ring, Quen and Mansoor are legal. Quen went up the top, but Madden caught him with a chokeslam off the top rope. Monsoon took Kassidy out with a superkick. Mansoor and Madden hit Quen with an elevated/implant double underhook DDT to get the pinfall.
