All Elite Wrestling will deliver an action-packed episode of AEW Rampage on December 16.
Tonight’s show is set to be a big one, as Jon Moxley and Sammy Guevara will face off in a huge one-on-one match. Elsewhere in the night, we’ll hear from FTR, Wardlow will be in action, Skye Blue and Brit Baker will wrestle in a singles match, and Orange Cassidy, the Best Friends, and Dustin Rhodes will team up against The Butcher & The Blade, Trent Seven, and Kip Sabian in an eight-man tag team match.
Jon Moxley defeats Sammy Guevara via submission
In a stellar opening match to the night, Moxley and Guevara put on a show in their singles match. Both superstars went at it from the very beginning, but it was Moxley who would continue to gain momentum as the match went on. Late in the match, Guevara was able to avoid the Death Rider, hitting one of his own and adding a swanton onto it. However, Moxley kicked out of the pin, and then managed to take another Spanish Fly from Guevara before rolling over onto his opponent and locking in the bulldog choke for the win.
After the match, Moxley grabbed the microphone and immediately called out Hangman Page, who came charging down to the ring. Moxley exited the ring and came running up the ramp to meet Page, and the two brawled. The brawl itself went into the back of the arena, where Page eventually hit a Buckshot Lariat on a security guard instead of Moxley, leading to officials swarming them and breakings apart.
Britt Baker defeats Skye Blue via pinfall
In a relatively quick match, Baker was able to overcome some early hits from Blue and land a series of kicks on Blue, dropping her to the ring before beginning to stomp down viciously on Blue and pin her for the win.
After the match, Baker took things even further, applying the Lockjaw on Blue and taunting her all the while. As a result, out came Hikaru Shida, who was wielding a kendo stick, as she ran down to the ring and took out Rebel and Baker. Jamie Hayter — who was also at ringside — then stared down Shida, holding up the AEW Women’s World Championship as the two yelled back and forth at each other.
Wardlow defeats Exodus Prime via pinfall
In another quick match, Wardlow made short work of Prime in his appearance tonight. Although Prime was able to land a few big punches to Wardlow, it did little to the behemoth, and Wardlow eventually put him down with a series of Powerbombs. Following the match, Wardlow took to the microphone, and said he was tired of waiting for Samoa Joe, and called him out immediately. Joe then appeared on the jumbotron, denying Wardlow’s request and saying that he would defend his TNT Championship on December 28.
Orange Cassidy, Dustin Rhodes, and The Best Friends defeat The Butcher & The Blade, Kip Sabian, and Trent Seven via pinfall
In the main event of tonight’s episode of AEW Rampage, the group of Orange Cassidy, Dustin Rhodes, and the Best Friends came out on top in a stellar bout. All four superstars on either side came out swinging, with mini brawls breaking out everywhere both in and out of the ring. However, late in the match, things began going the way of one team.
After Rhodes tagged in and hit Sabian with a Destroyer, he set up Kip in the corner, with Cassidy hitting some lazily done kicks to Kip’s groin before Rhode began hitting him for real. Trent Seven then tried to help, but was met with an Orange Punch, before Rhodes ended things with a Bulldog for the win.
