The 2024 AEW Revolution numbers are in.
On March 3, 2024, All Elite Wrestling presented itself fifth annual Revolution pay-per-view from the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina. This event featured a total of 11 matches, including a triple-threat match for the AEW World Championship, Will Ospreay’s full-time AEW debut, and the official retirement match of the “The Icon” Sting. Sting, of course, was no stranger to the North Carolina area, as he spent much of his early career in the Charlotte-based Jim Crockett Promotions.
Given the significance of the Sting’s retirement match and the event location, the intrigue for this event was notably elevated. As such, Wrestlenomincs has now provided an update on the financial success of AEW Revolution (via records provided to them by the City of Greensboro).
According to the Wrestlenomincs report, AEW Revolution generated over $1 million in gross ticket sales – $1,025,829.50 to be exact. After deducting taxes and fees, the net revenue for the pay-per-view totaled $951,417.17.
By surpassing the $1 million live gate mark, Revolution has solidified itself as one of the highest gates in AEW history. Other events to reach this feat include Double or Nothing 2022 in Las Vegas, All Out 2022 outside Chicago, Full Gear 2022 in Newark, and AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2023 in Toronto. The biggest gate in company history belongs to the 2023 All In London event, which claimed to draw a gate of $10 million.
The settlement between AEW and the Greensboro Coliseum also reportedly indicated that AEW Revolution sold 15,837 tickets, with only 281 tickets comped, for a total of 16,118 tickets distributed. 13,950 of these tickets later emerged in the turnstile count (aka the number of tickets scanned for use).
