JD Drake has bowled multiple 300-game in his life, and actually spends his time away from AEW working at the local bowling lanes in his hometown. He talks some bowling, and A LOT of wrestling including about the WorkHorsemen, his tag team with Anthony Henry. He has stories about the first time they met, the first time they tagged together, and how they came up with the name. JD also recounts his journey to AEW, what it was like being part of The Wing Men (with Ryan Nemeth, Peter Avalon, and Cezar Bononi), embracing the character and costume, and how the “I’ll make it work” catchphrase started. Plus, JD comments on his matches with Eddie Kingston, Darby Allin, and Stu Grayson, what he's learned from Arn Anderson, and his hopes for his future at AEW.
JD Drake on Anthony Henry, his tag team partner in the WorkHorsemen:
“Anthony Henry and I when we first met, hated each other, despised each other.”
JD Drake on the origin of The Wingmen:
“Christian was talking to Tony [Khan] and was like, ‘you should put JD and Ryan Nemeth together, and those two and Cezar [Bononi] and Peter [Avalon], and they should be trying to be JD’s wingmen and try to make him sexier and try to get girls.”
