Alex Shelley has been laying low since he last worked with IMPACT Wrestling earlier this year, but now he’ll be making his return to the ring by competing in the MLW 2021 Opera Cup. He’ll be facing fellow IMPACT stalwart in TJP in the tournament’s opening round, but Shelley happened to speak with Fightful about his status with IMPACT.
Shelley stated on Fightful Select that he in fact no longer works for IMPACT but did enjoy the run him and Motor City Machine Guns had against The North (Josh Alexander & Ethan Page). He’s open to going back to IMPACT and praised Scott D’Amore for what he’s been able to do in the current era of the promotion.
With the October 2 Fightland event on the horizon, Shelley mentioned that his talks with Major League Wrestling go back a couple of years and he’s been a fan of the company since its early days in 2003-2004. Shelley states how much he is intrigued to go against Alex Hammerstone. Hammerstone is going to be in the headline match at Fightland, defending his National Openweight Title against World Heavyweight Champion Jacob Fatu in a “Title For Title” match which will air October 7 on VICE TV following Dark Side of The Ring.
