Below are the brackets for the New Japan Cup:

Notes:

3 - There will be no Jr. Heavyweights in the tournament. Last year, the tournament was pushed from March 2020 to June 2020 due to COVID-19. They used Jr. Heavyweights to make up for missing wrestlers who were in other countries and unable to travel to Japan.

4 - Tetsuya Naito and The Great O-Khan will have tough first round match on the Anniversary Show. Both Naito and O-Khan battled in hard matches which took a toll on their bodies. Now, less a week later, they will face each other in the New Japan Cup on March 4. In comparison, Hiroshi Tanahashi, who beat O-Khan at Castle Attack, will have his first match in the tournament on March 15, although he may appear in undercard matches.

5 - In a press conference today, the IWGP Heavyweight Title and Intercontinental Title, both held by Kota Ibushi, will be combined into the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship. The winner of the New Japan Cup will earn a match for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.
