Cody Deaner Re-Signs With IMPACT Wrestling

Cody Deaner is sticking with IMPACT Wrestling.

During a new interview with Slam Wrestling, Cody Deaner confirmed he has re-signed with IMPACT. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Deaner explained what went into his decision to extend his tenure with the promotion.

“I believe that we have the best roster in professional wrestling, both in terms of the talent, but also in terms of the morale of the company. Everybody gets along, and it really feels like a team, it feels like family,” Deaner said. “So I definitely wanted to stay with my family.”

“I mean, as a professional wrestler, I’m also a businessman,” he added. “I’m always open to exploring talking to other companies. A businessman is always going to ‘take the meeting.’ They’re not going to close the doors.”

Deaner returned to IMPACT programming in 2018 and worked several live events and specials hosted in Canada, but he has been under contract with IMPACT since March 2019. Deaner initially worked in a tag team with Jake Something, but he later aligned with Eric Young, Joe Doering and Rhino as “Violent By Design.” Rhino and Doering won the IMPACT World Tag Team Championship on the May 20, 2021 episode of IMPACT, but Deaner was later recognized as champion due to Young invoking the “Freebird Rule”.
