Eddie Edwards is sticking with TNA Wrestling.
On Thursday, IMPACT Wrestling announced Eddie Edwards had re-signed with the company. PWInsider.com is credited with breaking the news. Terms of his new contract were not disclosed.
From IMPACT Wrestling:
“Eddie Edwards is here to stay in TNA Wrestling. As revealed today by PWInsider.com, the former IMPACT World Champion, World Tag Team Champion and X-Division Champion has re-signed with the promotion. Edwards has become one of the faces of TNA since his arrival in 2014, reinventing himself on numerous occasions. As Edwards looks to lead the charge into the new era, what is next for the brawler from Boston?”
“It was a no-brainer”
Eddie Edwards told PWInsider.com‘s Mike Johnson that his existing contract was set to expire in February 2024. However, Edwards and IMPACT entered negotiations several weeks ago and recently came to an agreement.
“I don’t think it’s much of a surprise,” Eddie Edwards told PWInsider.com. “I don’t think my fans and friends are very much surprised that I’m sticking around. Because everybody knows, how I feel about this company. I think especially right now with the momentum that we have with TNA coming back and all that excitement. For me, it was a no-brainer and I’m very happy to be here and continue being here as long as I’m able to.”
Edwards joined IMPACT Wrestling (when it was still known as TNA Wrestling) alongside Davey Richards in January 2014. Edwards has been a focal point of the company since then, winning the World Championship and X Division Championship (2x each), and the TNA World Tag Team Championship 5 times.
