Gail Kim praised the new TNA management team during a recent appearance on Gabby AF.
TNA made a major change to its management team earlier this year when former president Scott D’Amore was let go. D’Amore recently announced the revival of Maple Leaf Wrestling with shows taking place in Windsor this October.
Kim says that the new TNA management team has “walked the walk” and given her the ball to run with.
“I’m not going to lie, this new management has empowered me so much like I’ve never been empowered before,” Kim said on the show. “I thought that I was making strides in the wrestling world, I’ve never felt as uplifted as I have this year. Not only has this management talked the talk, they’ve walked the walk.”
“Not only do they say they want me to grow within this company, they’ve given me that ball to run with it. And I’ve felt it, and I’m doing it, and I’ve just never felt so much growth within the wrestling business so quickly as I have this year, it’s been incredible. I feel very respected and valued for the first time in a long time.”
Kim also revealed that she has been backstage at recent NXT tapings at the WWE Performance Center and spoke about working with NXT Women’s Champion, Roxanne Perez.
“I actually saw (Perez) last night because I go to NXT because we have talent there and I have to drive up every week to just be there as a TNA representative. And I saw her last night and I never really got to talk to her since I saw her match at Great American Bash two weeks ago, and they were the main event and they just killed it. I just told her, that match, chef’s kiss, you know?”
Kim also briefly mentioned a “weird special side project” she recently worked on that she’ll be able to talk more about in a month. She referred to the project as a “life-changing experience.”
