New ROH World Champion Crowned On AEW Dynamite Grand Slam


ROH World Championship: Claudio Castagnoli (c) vs. Chris Jericho


The two men shake hands. Castagoli drills Jericho with a number of European uppercuts. He controls the match early on and dumps Jericho onto the ropes. The champion sends Jericho to the outside with a big boot. He keeps up the attack, but Jericho grabs Cary Silkin and hides behind him. He throws Silkin at Castagnoli and uses the distraction to gain the upper hand. Castagnoli catches Jericho with an uppercut in mid-air. They trade chops, and Jericho drops the champion. Castagnoli hits him with another uppercut. Jericho rakes Castagnoli’s eye and suplexes him off the apron and onto the floor. “The Wizard” takes control and grounds Castagnoli. The champion rallies, but Jericho sends him crashing into the corner. Castagnoli fires up, but Jericho chops him. Jericho counters a powerbomb and hits a hurricanrana off the top rope for a two count. Castagnoli counters the Codebreaker and nails an uppercut for a two count. The champion locks in a Sharpshooter, but Jericho reaches the ropes.


Castagnoli hits the Ricola Comb for a two count. He knees Jericho in the gut. Jericho hits a Codebreaker in mid-air for a two count. Jericho locks in the Walls of Jericho, but Castagnoli fights his way out. He takes Jericho swinging and drills him with a lariat. Jericho tries to hit Castagnoli with his bat, but the champion blocks it. With the referee distracted, Jericho hits him below the belt and nails the Judas Effect.
