NWA Powerrr Results (09/10/2024)

Jeremiah Plunklett def. Dante Casanova, Hunter Drake and Mario Pardua in a Four-Way Elimination Match to Become the Inaugural NWA Mid-America Champion

All four guys represented different territories. Obviously, I was most familiar with Plunkett, so it wasn't much of a stretch to see him win the title. Despite that, it was a fun four-way and the elimination stipulation was a nice touch. The last thing the NWA needs is more championships, but it would be smart for this to be the belt that's defended across all the promotions/territories that they're partnered with.

Carson Drake def. Bryan Idol

Drake was just involved in a six-man tag team match recently on Powerrr. I know he's been on a handful of Powerrr shows over the last year, but he hasn't started to develop a character or a personality until now from what I've noticed. That's why giving him the win here was the right call, especially against a guy that's established like Idol. It was a well-worked match while it lasted.

NWA National Champion Thom Latimer def. Steve Boz

Boz isn't an NWA regular (though I'm pretty sure he's wrestled on Powerrr before as just Boz), so there wasn't much uncertainty surrounding the outcome. They had a decent match, though. Post-match, Latimer called out EC3 for the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship at NWA 76. The commentators treated it like it was the first time that match has been mentioned, but I thought it was already official? I know it was taped at the end of August, so hopefully it airs on Powerrr soon.

Pretty Empowered def. Ella Envy and Miss Starr in a Street Fight

Kenzie and Kylie Paige were referred by only their names in the match graphic, yet they were announced as Pretty Empowered during their entrance, so I guess they're keeping that team name. Plus, Envy and Starr didn't have a team name when they were announced, but they were referred to as The It Girls in the match graphic. All of this is just nitpicking, mind you, but it bothers me when it's not consistent! In all seriousness, this was a fun Street Fight. All four ladies worked hard. Hopefully this definitively marks the end of this tag team feud.
